Benjamin Ray Hutcherson, 47, Celebrated in Life Gathering

Ashland City mourns the passing of Benjamin Ray Hutcherson, who died Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at the age of 47. Ben was a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished son and brother, known for his enjoyment of the outdoors and his passion for music.

He leaves behind his wife, Laura Nicole Hutcherson, and his son, James Carter Dakota McCool. He is also survived by his father, Michael Ray Hutcherson (Molly), his mother, Carolyn Marie Hutcherson, and his brothers, Michael Vance Hutcherson and Robert Davis Hutcherson, along with many extended family members and friends.

During his life, Ben found great pleasure in nature and the great outdoors. He was also a talented musician, playing bass guitar in a band. Above all, Ben treasured his time spent with family and friends, a sentiment echoed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held for Benjamin Hutcherson on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Boyd Funeral Home, located at 101 Elizabeth St., Ashland City, TN 37015. The funeral home can be reached at (615) 792-4677.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Ben's name to a local animal shelter. His memory will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
