Fuente Nueva Charter School Hires 5 Teachers in Arcata
Fuente Nueva Charter School in Arcata will add five teachers and a program coordinator next school year, Director Angela announced this week.
Megan Altic joins as kindergarten teacher with ten years of experience and Spanish immersion background from Dow's Prairie. Juliana Goldstein and Cammy Grey will co-teach third grade; Goldstein previously taught kindergarten and served on the school's charter council, while Grey taught Readers' Theater and worked as a substitute.
Fernanda Avalos Márquez will teach transitional kindergarten after seven years teaching preschool in Querétaro, Mexico. Enicia Fisher, who holds a master's degree in education and directed educational wellness programs in San Miguel de Allende, will coordinate the Expanded Learning Program. Fisher will incorporate cultural arts, movement activities, and self-care practices into the extended day program.
Fisher replaces the current Extended Day Coordinator and transitional kindergarten assistant, who is taking a sabbatical to live with family in Nicaragua.
The school is also recruiting an English Language Arts teacher and a school counselor.
Students will meet the new teachers during Move Up Day on Friday, June 13 at 9 a.m. Avalos Márquez will join via Zoom from Mexico.
