DeSoto County Receives Two Applications for Hyperscale Data Centers

DeSoto County received two applications this month for hyperscale data centers, continuing a wave of development following the Board of County Commissioners' March approval of a similar facility.

On May 7, DCIP and 3-F Ranch applied to build a 3.7 million square foot data center on 274 acres at the DeSoto County Industrial Park. Five days later, Swisher Mildred E TR and Swisher Properties filed an application for a 4.7 million square foot data center and electrical generation facility spanning 554 acres.

The Planning Commission and Board of County Commissioners will each hold a public hearing on both proposals. Residents can submit questions to [email protected].

In March, the Board approved a data center and office facility at 3800 NE Roan Road within the industrial park.
