Wind Gusts Up To 55 MPH Expected Tonight in North Douglas, Adams, and Weld Counties

Residents in North Douglas County below 6000 feet, Denver, West Adams and Arapahoe Counties, East Broomfield County, Central and South Weld County, and Central and East Adams and Arapahoe Counties should prepare for strong wind gusts this evening. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Denver has issued a Special Weather Statement effective until 10:00 PM MDT.

At 9:16 PM MDT, Doppler radar detected a line of showers with gusty winds moving north at 15 mph. These winds are expected to reach speeds of 50 to 55 mph. This radar-indicated hazard may cause tree limbs to fall and unsecured outdoor objects to be blown around.

Areas that may be impacted include Thornton, Brighton, Firestone, Frederick, Fort Lupton, Milliken, Berthoud, Lochbuie, Dacono, Mead, Platteville, Hudson, LaSalle, Keenesburg, Gilcrest, and Milton Reservoir.

The NWS advises monitoring the weather situation closely and remaining alert for threatening weather conditions during this period.
