APOPKA, FL – The City of Apopka seeks residents for a vacant Resident Board Member position on the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Board. This role offers engaged citizens an opportunity to contribute to the revitalization and growth of urban areas within the city, particularly those interested in the ongoing development around the historic Apopka train depot.

The CRA Board implements the community redevelopment master plan, manages tax increment revenues for infrastructure and business assistance, and addresses conditions of slum and blight. The board also encourages private development and public-private partnerships to stimulate economic activity and create jobs within the CRA district, supporting areas like the growing downtown corridor.

Applicants must reside within the City of Apopka. Preference goes to individuals who own or operate a business within the CRA district. Candidates with experience in real estate, urban planning, architecture, engineering, construction, or project management are encouraged to apply. Demonstrated leadership in business, development, or community/nonprofit sectors, such as involvement with neighborhood associations in areas like Errol Estates, will be viewed favorably.

The application period is open, with online applications due by November 6, 2026. A resume is required. Interested individuals can find CRA district boundaries and submit applications online. For questions, email the City Clerk's Office.
