Apopka Grant Workshop for Youth & Seniors

The City of Apopka hosted a workshop in April 2026 to outline its Non-Profit Grant Program, which supports local youth, at-risk individuals, and senior initiatives. The program offers financial awards ranging from $500 to $5,000 to organizations focused on academic achievement, juvenile crime reduction, and community well-being.

Applicants must provide a minimum 50% match, which can include cash or in-kind donations. The workshop covered grant requirements, project guidelines, fund usage, selection criteria, and administrative tasks. Key proposal elements included electronic submission of all documents and an Agency Financial Disclosure Statement, supported by a Check-A-Charity report or IRS Tax Return.

Organizations also needed to submit proof of their IRS Nonprofit Status Determination Letter, current liability insurance, a list of their Board of Directors and/or Advisory Board, and letters of support from external partners. Letters from City of Apopka staff or elected officials were not accepted. An "Institutional Commitment" letter from the applicant organization was permissible but did not count as a letter of support.

The application window opened Wednesday, April 1, 2026, and closed Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 4 p.m. Late submissions were not considered. Inquiries about the grant program were due to [email protected] by 5 p.m. EST on Monday, April 27, 2026.
