TECO Seeks Engineering Interns for Spring 2027 in Tampa

APOLLO BEACH – Tampa Electric Company (TECO) is recruiting college students for its Spring 2027 Cooperative Education Program. The program offers engineering internship opportunities in Tampa.

The TECO Energy Cooperative Education Program provides students with hands-on experience to complement their studies. Interns will work on technical projects supporting Energy Delivery engineers. These assignments will align with the company's needs and students' fields of study.

Interns will support projects related to TECO's energy delivery system expansion. Duties include providing engineering, estimating, programming, and mapping input. Candidates will also engineer and design facilities to be safe and economical, adhering to accepted engineering practices. The role involves preparing design drawings, specifications, and bills of material, and representing projects within Electric Delivery’s Project Management process.

Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited university's undergraduate or graduate program in a related discipline, with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Preferred disciplines include Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related engineering fields. Students must be enrolled in a university co-op program or will be considered interns if not eligible.

The internship location is 820 S 78th St, Tampa, FL, Building A. Interns are expected to be available 20-40 hours per week. A pre-employment drug screening, physical exam, and background check are required. Responding to storms is a condition of employment.
