Residents across central and northern Arizona should prepare for strong winds. The National Weather Service (NWS) Flagstaff has issued a Wind Advisory effective immediately, October 9, at 12:58 PM MST, until Sunday, October 11, at 8:00 PM MST.

South winds are expected to reach 25 to 35 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph. These conditions will affect all of Apache, Navajo, Coconino, Yavapai, and northern Gila counties, as well as specific areas including the Kaibab Plateau, Grand Canyon Country, and the White Mountains.

Gusty winds can make driving difficult, particularly for high-profile vehicles such as RVs, campers, and tractor trailers. Extra caution is advised for all motorists. Unsecured outdoor objects could be blown around or damaged by the wind. Tree limbs may snap, potentially leading to isolated power outages.

The NWS advises securing loose outdoor objects to prevent damage or injury. Travelers in affected areas should be aware of challenging driving conditions.
