Meetings are held in the Town Council Chambers at the Lake Placid Government Center, 1069 U.S. Highway 27, N Lake Placid, FL 33852 Occasionally, the Town of Lake Placid may require meetings that are not part of the regular schedule for the Town Council, the Lake Placid Local Planning Agency/Board of Adjustments, Lake Placid Community Redevelopment Agency, or the Lake Placid Regional Utilities Advisory Commission. These meetings are known as Special Meetings, and the town provides notification of such meetings through this webpage dedicated to Special Meeting Notices, posted at the Government Center and the public calendar on this website. Applies to All Meetings The Town Council, Lake Placid Redevelopment Agency, Local Planning Agency/Board of Adjustment, and Regional Utility Advisory Commission may occasionally hold special meetings or cancel regularly scheduled meetings. One or more Highlands County Board of County Commissioners, highlands county school board member, town council members, local planning agency/board of adjustment members, and the Regional Utility Advisory Commission may be present at the meetings. Any person who might wish to appeal any decision made by the Town Council, Lake Placid Redevelopment Agency, Local Planning Agency/Board of Adjustment, and the Lake Placid Regional Utility Advisory Commission in public hearing or meeting is hereby advised that they will need a record of the proceedings, and for such purpose, they may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made which will include the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is.
