The Hernando County Special Needs Program helps coordinate the registration, notification, and evacuation of residents who have physical or mental disabilities, or minor medical conditions that may require extra support; for example, if a hospital should be considered instead of a shelter. The shelter has a limited number of blankets, cots and medical supplies. Residents are strongly encouraged to bring their own supplies and comfort items.
