The City of Fort Pierce is advising the public of the temporary closure of the public boat ramps located at 600 N. Indian River Drive, between the A.E. Backus Museum & Gallery and the Manatee Center, due to ongoing construction activities along Indian River Drive.
The City of Fort Pierce is advising the public of the temporary closure of the public boat ramps located at 600 N. Indian River Drive, between the A.E. Backus Museum & Gallery and the Manatee Center, due to ongoing construction activities along Indian River Drive. The boat ramps will be closed beginning Monday, September 14, 2026, and are scheduled to reopen Monday, September 28, 2026. During the closure, boaters will not be able to launch or retrieve vessels from this location and are encouraged to plan accordingly and utilize alternate public boat ramp facilities. The parking lot will remain open for public use throughout the construction period; however, access will be limited to one lane of traffic. Motorists and visitors should anticipate temporary traffic impacts, use caution when entering and exiting the area, and follow all posted construction signage and directions. For the safety of the public and construction crews, please avoid entering closed or restricted areas. The closure schedule is subject to change based on construction conditions. The City of Fort Pierce appreciates the public's patience, cooperation, and understanding as this work is completed.
