Jetty Park West Improvements Project Enhancing the visitor Experience on South Beach

Jetty Park West Improvements Project Enhancing the visitor Experience on South Beach The Fort Pierce Redevelopment Agency (FPRA), in partnership with the City of Fort Pierce, is moving forward with the Jetty Park West Improvements Project, an initiative designed to enhance public infrastructure, improve accessibility and parking, and create a more welcoming experience for residents and visitors to South Beach. Through FPRA Resolution 26-10, the FPRA approved an Interlocal Funding Agreement with the City of Fort Pierce, providing up to $100,000 in redevelopment trust funds to support the design phase of the project. About the Project Located within the FPRA district on South Beach, the Jetty Park West Improvements Project will focus on the planning and design of improvements to the existing parking area and surrounding public space. The design phase will include engineering and surveying services necessary to develop an improved parking layout, enhance site circulation, and incorporate public amenities that complement the character and existing features of Jetty Park. The City of Fort Pierce will serve as the lead agency for the project and will oversee design, permitting, and consultant coordination. Project Goals The Jetty Park West Improvements Project is intended to: - Improve the layout, functionality, and circulation of the existing parking area. - Enhance accessibility and the overall visitor experience. - Incorporate attractive public amenities that complement Jetty Park and the surrounding waterfront area. - Improve public infrastructure within the South Beach redevelopment area. - Support tourism and economic activity by investing in one of Fort Pierce's popular waterfront destinations. Latest Update The FPRA Board and City Commission have approved the funding agreement for the Jetty Park West Improvements Project. This initiative will upgrade the existing parking area with improved circulation, enhanced parking layout, decorative lighting, landscaping, and other amenities designed to elevate the visitor experience. These enhancements are expected to support tourism, strengthen community events, and contribute to the continued revitalization of the South Beach District. Design work is anticipated to be completed by October 2026, with construction planned for Fiscal Year 2027.
