Adopt‑A‑Park Program Panama City is home to nearly 40 parks, trails, and bike paths—more than 240 acres of green spaces for our community to enjoy. To help keep these places beautiful, safe, and vibrant, we invite residents, businesses, and community groups to take part in our Adopt‑A‑Park Program. Adopting a park is a hands-on way to give back, support neighborhood pride, and make a visible difference in the spaces we all share. Why Adopt a Park? Groups who adopt a park can help with projects like landscaping, cleanups, minor maintenance, or hosting fun community activities. Benefits include: - Helping keep parks and trails clean and welcoming - Supporting community programs in local parks - Contributing to beautification and improvement projects - Recognition on social media - A customized sign displayed in your adopted park - A sense of pride and ownership in improving your community Who Can Participate? Anyone with a passion for community improvement! Businesses, nonprofits, neighborhood groups, schools, faith-based organizations, families, and individuals are all welcome to join. Participating groups must promote inclusivity and reflect the City's core values. What Kinds of Projects Can You Do? Some examples of activities which enhance the quality of the City's parks and trails include: - Park grounds or trash cleanups, mowing and string trimming - Facility and equipment upkeep and maintenance - Park beautification, landscape maintenance, plantings or pruning - Reporting of suspicious or illegal activity at park site - Purchasing park amenities, supplies, or landscaping (e.g. benches, tree planting) The Adopt‑A‑Park Program offers four different ways to get involved: Tier 1 (Custodial/Beautification) - Trash Pickup - Graffiti/Gum Removal - Minor maintenance - Planting Flowers - Mulching Tier 2 (Maintenance/Landscaping) - Painting - Landscape Planting - Lawn Care Maintenance - Tree and Shrub Trimming Tier 3 (Community Engagement/Park Programming) - Community based programming - Garden Training - Guided Nature Walks - Movie Nights Tier 4 (Donations) - Amenity donations such as playgrounds or dog park elements, statues, benches, artwork How Do I Get Started? Ready to make a difference? Download and complete the Adopt-A-Park Application. You may list up to three preferred parks in case your first choice is already adopted. Once approved, a City representative will reach out to help finalize your adoption. What Parks are Eligible for Adoption? Many parks, trails, and bike paths are available for adoption.
