Residents in the Santa Ana Mountains and Foothills are advised to take immediate precautions as an Extreme Heat Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service San Diego CA. The warning is effective from tonight, October 3, at 9:40 PM PDT, and will remain in effect until Thursday, October 8, at 8:00 PM PDT.
Dangerously hot conditions are expected, with temperatures reaching up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Nighttime lows will also be elevated, staying in the low to mid 70s, offering little relief from the heat.
Heat-related illnesses significantly increase during extreme heat events. To stay safe, the National Weather Service strongly recommends drinking plenty of fluids, staying in air-conditioned rooms, and avoiding direct sun exposure.
