Drivers in Northern and North Central Iowa should be alert for reduced visibility this morning due to areas of fog. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Des Moines has issued a Special Weather Statement, effective now through 8:00 AM CDT today, September 30, 2026.

The affected counties include Emmet, Kossuth, Winnebago, Worth, Palo Alto, Hancock, Cerro Gordo, Pocahontas, Humboldt, Wright, Franklin, Sac, Calhoun, Webster, Hamilton, Hardin, Greene, Boone, and Story. Visibilities are expected to be around or under one mile in these areas.
