Street Sweeping Program Begins April 13

City of Waterbury Announces Start of Annual Street Sweeping Program The City of Waterbury’s annual residential street sweeping program will begin on Monday, April 13, 2026, weather permitting. Property owners are encouraged to assist in the success of the program by sweeping sidewalks into the immediate gutter line and removing any debris, litter, and leaves. Sand should not be swept into large piles, as this can hinder the efficiency of the sweeping equipment. Beginning April 13, crews will operate in the following areas: Crew One District 6 – Starting in the North End, Bucks Hill, and Wilby areas, continuing south to the Wolcott Street and Lakewood Road areas. Crew Two District 3 – Starting in the Captain Neville Drive, Progress Lane, and upper Scott Road areas. The Department of Public Works will post signage in each district in advance of scheduled sweeping. Residents are strongly encouraged to remove parked vehicles from designated routes prior to the arrival of sweepers. Vehicles that are not removed may be towed at the owner’s expense. Weekly updates will be published in the local newspaper and posted on the City’s website at www.waterburyct.org, where residents can also find a detailed listing of streets by district. Residents may use the Streets_by_District.pdf on the City’s website to identify the district in which their street is located. For additional information, please contact the Department of Public Works.
