Washington Family Sues Nara Organics, Target Over Infant Botulism Case

SEATTLE — The parents of a Lacey, Washington infant filed a lawsuit on July 25, 2026, against Nara Organics and Target. The lawsuit alleges their child developed botulism after consuming Nara whole-milk formula, which Target sold.

The family's legal representatives, Marler Clark, filed the complaint. The attorneys stated that the lawsuit challenges Nara's claim that the product was "FDA-approved."

Officials issued a recall for Nara whole-milk formula earlier this year. The recall notice specified potential contamination with *Clostridium botulinum*, the bacteria responsible for botulism. The infant's hospitalization occurred after consuming the product.

The lawsuit seeks damages for medical expenses, pain and suffering, and other related costs. Neither Nara Organics nor Target has publicly commented on the lawsuit.
