Voting and Registration Celebrating 250 Years of Measuring America's People and Economy Countdown to America's 250th Anniversary - July 4, 2026 For every national election since 1964, the Census Bureau has collected data on the characteristics of American voters. The data shows how many citizens of voting age are registered and how many vote, broken down by age and sex, race and ethnicity, and more. Featured sections include Voting and Registration Visualizations with charts, tables, maps, and interactive graphic elements; the Current Population Survey (CPS), a monthly survey sponsored by the Bureau of Labor Statistics and conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau; and the Redistricting Data Program, which provides state legislatures with small area census population tabulations necessary for legislative redistricting as required by Public Law 94-171. Voting and Registration Data Tables are available for elections in November 2024 (released April 2025), November 2022 (released April 2023), and November 2020 (released April 2021). P20 detailed tables are released every two years following national level elections. Publications include reports on Voting and Registration in the Election of November 2022 (April 2024), November 2020 (February 2022), and An Analysis of the 2018 Congressional Election (December 2021).
