Allegan Girls Tennis Goes 22-0 in Regular Season
The Allegan varsity girls tennis team finished its regular season 22-0, winning nine matches in five days from April 28 through May 2.
The Tigers won 162 individual dual matches while losing six across all flights. They defeated Galesburg-Augusta 8-0 on April 28, Kalamazoo Christian 6-2 on April 29, and Black River 8-0 on April 30. On April 30, Allegan swept a quad meet with 7-1 victories over Paw Paw, Calvin Christian and Berrien Springs.
The team won the Tiger Duals tournament on May 2 with 23 points, ahead of Otsego (12), Shrine Catholic (8) and Lansing Christian (5). Allegan beat Lansing Christian and Shrine Catholic 8-0 before defeating Otsego 7-1 in the final match.
The season set five program records: most team dual match wins (22, previous record 17 in 2019), most individual dual match wins (162, previous record 122 in 2019), most shutouts (11, previous record 10 in 2012), perfect winning percentage (100 percent) and longest dual match win streak (22, tied with the 2011-2013 streak).
Allegan advances to postseason competition.
