Camden County College Apprenticeship Week Event

Camden County College hosted U.S. Department of Labor representatives on Thursday, May 14, 2026, to discuss apprenticeship programs and workforce needs in the region.
The event featured New Jersey's first AI Registered Apprenticeship program and recognized a graduate from the college's Manufacturing Apprenticeship program. Speakers discussed preparing students for skilled trades and technical careers.
Commissioner Jonathan Young, a union carpenter for more than 30 years, spoke about apprenticeships' impact. "Registered apprenticeships can transform lives and strengthen communities," Young said. "These pathways create access to stable, in-demand careers while building a stronger workforce."
The event coincided with National Apprenticeship Week, a nationwide initiative by the U.S. Department of Labor observed April 26 to May 2.
