Robert E. “Bob” Cooper Jr., 78, of Frankfort, passed away June 3, 2026 in his home.  He was born on June 26, 1947 in Oliver Springs, Tennessee to Robert E. Cooper Sr. and Carrie (Freels) Cooper.  He m

Robert E. “Bob” Cooper Jr., 78, of Frankfort, passed away June 3, 2026 in his home.  He was born on June 26, 1947 in Oliver Springs, Tennessee to Robert E. Cooper Sr. and Carrie (Freels) Cooper.  He married Christie Lynch in 1992 and she survives.Bob earned his GED from Frankfort Schools and served in the United States National Guard as a medic.  He was a demolition contractor in the Clinton County area and retired from Frito Lay after several years.  Bob was a hard worker and loved to tinker around his property.Surviving along with his wife: Christie are his children: Eric Cooper, Rene Ellis, and Chad Myers, siblings: Truman, Bonnie, Jane, and Phyllis, along with 3 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Winston, Paul, Lena, Linda, Mike, Peggy, Brenda, and Lori.In accordance with Bob’s wishes, no services will be held.  Archer-Weston Funeral & Cremation Center and Clinton County Crematory, 501 East Clinton Street, Frankfort are honored to assist with services.  Memorial Donations may be made in Bob’s name to Archer-Weston Funeral & Cremation Center to assist with final expenses or to the Clinton County Humane Society, P.O. Box 455, Frankfort, IN 46041.

Petersburgh Public Library Seeking Library Director, Position Starts June 2026

The Petersburgh Public Library, a small, municipal library located in eastern Rensselaer County, NY, seeks an energetic and creative individual with administrative experience and a strong commitment to community for the position of Library Director.   Serving a user population of approximately 1400, the library is governed by a seven-member board of trustees and is a member of the Upper Hudson Library System.  The Library Director reports to the Board of Trustees and holds primary responsibility for the day-to-day operation and management of the Library.  Along with regular customer service and public relations, other duties include collection, service, and program planning; budget management; supervision of staff and volunteers; community outreach; fund raising; and grant writing. The position is scheduled to work 26 hours per week with a schedule that supports library services, programs, and events.  The position requires a two-year college degree or equivalent, and the ideal candidate will demonstrate flexibility, excellent communication skills, strong technology skills, and an appreciation for the importance of public library service in a small community.  Fund-raising, grant writing, and library experience will be considered a plus.  The Library Director’s annual salary will start at $26,000. Petersburgh Library Turkey Dinner Fundraiser June 1st at Brunswick Elks Club

We are having a Turkey Dinner at the Brunswick Elks Club on Monday, June 1st at 5:00 pm. The cost is $15 per person, and reservations must be made ahead of time by calling Cindy at 386-689-9454. APHS Concert Band Participates in Music Festival

"Congratulations to the APHS Concert Band traveled to Ithaca College School of Music on May 1 to participate in the Affiliate Regional Music For All Festival. During the event, students took part in instrument-specific master classes led by college professors, explored the School of Music, listened to performances by other ensembles and performed on the stage at Ford Hall. The band also participated in an evaluated performance and clinic with adjudicators. Community members will have an opportunity to hear the Concert Band perform again during the APHS Spring Concert on May 20 at 6:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium, featuring all APHS musical ensembles. "
