A signed waiver is all that is required for the loan! Are You O.K.?The City of Fairview Park and the Fairview Park Police Department, in association with the North Olmsted Police Department, are offering a FREE service for both Fairview Park and North Olmsted residents to ensure that their residents are safe and to provide emergency responses when citizens can not call for help themselves. How it works is a check-in service makes calls to subscribers at times/days determined by the subscriber. This program is for any Fairview Park or North Olmsted resident. Interested? Follow this application link, fill out the form, print, and send it to the North Olmsted Police Department, 27243 Lorain Road, North Olmsted, OH 44070. If you have further questions about this program, please call the North Olmsted Police Department at 440-777-3535.Legal ServicesAttorney Joe Valore offers free 15-minute consultations to seniors on the 2nd Wednesday of every month. Appointments are required and can be made by calling 440-356-4437 or by emailing [email protected] Service Recommendations for SeniorsOur Home Services Recommendations list includes snow removal, lawn care, handymen, and miscellaneous services. Please note that workers on this list ARE NOT endorsed by the Fairview Park Senior Life office, but recommendations have come from other seniors within the community. We recommend that, before hiring anyone on this list, you ask for references. Safety Lock Box ProgramThe Fire Department, in partnership with the Senior Life Department,  has a Safety Lock Box Program in Fairview Park. This program assists safety forces in reaching our senior residents during an emergency. The Fire Department installs a lock box (2 inches wide by 4 inches long) onto the top of the door jamb on the side or back door. This box holds a master key and emergency information, including the name and phone of the physician, medical conditions, medications, allergies, hospital preference, and information on pets, if applicable. Should you require assistance from emergency personnel and are unable to answer the door, the contents of the safety lock box are available to police, fire, or EMS. This system allows faster emergency response while preventing damage to a home. The cost of a lock box is $35. Interested senior residents can click this link to fill out the form and email it to [email protected] or visit the Senior Center for a paper form. Social ServicesOur Social Worker, Sandy Milos,  offers information and referrals to a wide variety of resources for Seniors, such as Medicare, Medicaid, Senior Living, Home Health Care, Utility Assistance Programs, and many other programs and services offered to seniors.  Please call Sandy Milos at 440-356-4463 or email for assistance. Technical AssistanceOn Wednesdays at 3:30, Fairview Park High School students will be at the Senior Center to help with a phone, tablet, computer, headphones, or Bluetooth device.  No appointment is needed! Just drop in with your phone, tablet, or computer. The teens are very knowledgeable about all devices and look forward to assisting the seniors! We also offer Tech Support from IConnect on the 3rd Friday of the month at 11:00 am. Transportation Assistance LocatorGohio Mobility
