Residents in Monroe and Orleans Counties are advised to seek immediate shelter indoors due to a Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Buffalo NY. The warning is in effect from 9:58 PM EDT until 10:30 PM EDT tonight, October 7th.
At 9:57 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Waterport, approximately 8 miles northwest of Albion, moving east at 45 mph. This storm is capable of producing 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-sized hail.
Impacts are expected to include hail damage to vehicles and wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations that will be impacted include Brockport, Medina, Albion, Hamlin Beach State Park, Holley, Waterport, Lakeside Beach State Park, Point Breeze, Kent, and Ridgeway.
