Alachua County HOA Webinar: Florida-Friendly Landscaping Tips

HOA leaders and residents in Alachua County communities can attend a free webinar on water conservation and environmental protection through landscaping. The Alachua County Environmental Protection Department, UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County, and the Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Program hosted the one-hour session on Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 4 to 5 p.m. The webinar covered best practices for creating and maintaining environmentally friendly yards, the nine principles of Florida-Friendly Landscaping, Alachua County’s HOA Florida-Friendly Landscaping Code, and strategies for community collaboration.
"Alachua County’s HOA Florida Friendly Landscaping Code assists property owners in HOA-governed communities wishing to implement Florida Friendly Landscaping and advocates for HOA practices and policies that support statewide water protection efforts," said Hollie Greer, Senior Environmental Specialist with the Environmental Protection Department.
The session offered one Continuing Education Unit (CEU) for Landscape Architects and Community Association Managers through the Department of Business and Professional Regulation (course #DBPR 9633976).
