Robert W. Burke, known to many as Bob, passed away on April 24, 2026, in St. Petersburg, Florida, after a life marked by faith, service, and devotion to others.Bob was born on June 27, 1960, in Englewood, New Jersey, and from the beginning of his life, he carried a spirit of strength, perseverance, and kindness that would remain with him through every season. He lived his life as a Christian man who sought to walk in faith, trust in God, and extend grace to those around him. Those who knew him will remember a man whose presence was steady, whose words were sincere, and whose heart was devoted to the Lord and to the people he loved.Bob proudly served his country as a Veteran of the United States Navy, a chapter of his life that reflected his courage, discipline, and willingness to serve something greater than himself. His time in the Navy shaped the character that many came to admire. He understood duty, loyalty, and sacrifice, and he carried those values with him throughout his life. Whether in uniform, at home, in ministry, or among friends, he was a man who believed in standing firm and doing what was right.Following his military service, Bob devoted himself to ministry as a Pastor, where he shared his faith and encouraged others with compassion and humility. His life in Christian service was a testament to his love for God and his desire to help others find hope, healing, and direction. He spoke with honesty, listened with care, and offered encouragement rooted in Scripture and lived experience. Through his calling, he touched many lives and left behind a legacy of spiritual strength and kindness.Bob was also deeply involved in the recovery community as a Friend of Bill Wilson and as a faithful member of Alcoholics Anonymous for nearly 40 years. His journey and commitment to sobriety stood as an example of perseverance, grace, and the power of transformation. He understood the importance of fellowship, accountability, and faith, and he was a source of support to many who were walking similar paths. His life bore witness to the truth that healing is possible and that God’s mercy is greater than any struggle.Family was central to Bob’s life, and he loved them deeply. He is survived by his wife, Terry, who shared in his life and stood beside him through many years. He is also survived by his daughter Chandra Burke and her long-time partner Jason Springs, as well as his son John and John’s wife  Alisha. His sisters Tina Banta and Mary Burke and his brother Jack Burke. Bob cherished his family and took great pride in them. His love was expressed not only in words, but in the steady care, guidance, and presence he gave so freely. His family will remember his faith, his strength, and the genuine affection he had for each of them.Among the simple joys that brought Bob happiness was riding his motorcycle. It was more than a pastime to him. It was a reflection of his love for freedom, the open road, and the peace he found in motion and reflection. Those rides were part of the life he enjoyed, and they remain one of the many ways people will remember his spirited and independent nature.Bob’s life was one of purpose, faith, and resilience. He faced life with honesty and courage, and he met its challenges with the help of God’s grace. He leaves behind a legacy of service, recovery, ministry, and family devotion that will not be forgotten. Though he has departed this earthly life, the memory of his kindness, his faith, and his steadfast presence will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.As a Christian, Bob believed in the promise of eternal life, and those who mourn his passing take comfort in knowing that he is now in the presence of the Lord he served. His life was a blessing, and his memory will continue to inspire gratitude, love, and faith. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
