Kelley's Corner Project Final Phase: Summer Paving Ahead
Crews will complete sidewalk installation, lighting, and landscaping over the next few weeks at Kelley's Corner before final paving begins this summer, concluding the $18.5 million infrastructure overhaul.
Workers will backfill curbs, grade and install sidewalks, install wiring and light poles, and add landscaping. The project continues operating under temporary traffic patterns until paving occurs.
The work has added 2.24 miles of ADA-compliant sidewalks, 157 street trees, five new crosswalks, and four pedestrian rapid flashing beacons. Crews redesigned four major intersections and installed two new traffic signals.
Town Meeting approved the project in April 2019, based on the Kelley's Corner Initiative Plan from 2016. State and federal funding covered the cost.
